This piece is painted on stretched canvas and is framed in a gorgeous black wood floater frame with a slightly distressed finish. Wire installed and ready to hang.
The beautiful, elusive Snow Leopard is home to the high altitude mountains of Central Asia including the rugged Himalayas. Even so reclusive, human encroachment has dwindled its numbers to less than 6,400, ranking them high on the endangered species list.
Mothers raise their cubs alone for up to 2 years, venturing out from their caves and dens to hunt at dusk and dawn. Their huge paws act as snow shoes in the cold climate, and extra long tails provide warmth and excellent balance. Their smoky colored coats and dark markings render them nearly invisible in their mountainous habitat, making them widely regarded as the Ghost of the Mountains.
