Amur Tiger, also known as Siberian Tiger, is the largest of all tiger subspecies. Their size and strength are awe-inspiring as is their striking beauty, but tigers face overwhelming threats to their survival. All tiger species are critically endangered with less than 4,000 individuals existing in the wild. Of the 9 subspecies of tiger, 3 have gone extint within the last century. Their decline is a direct effect of poaching and habitat loss including deforestation due to the expansion of unsustainable agribusiness. You can help by boycotting manufacturers that exploit these habitats, as well as supporting tiger conservation organizations like World Wildlife Fund. Tiger as a totem can be associated with independence, persistence, stealth, patience, and solitude.
